Seeding is essentially the first step taken in the propagating process of any plant. Due to the diversity of small and large nursery operations, this first step may be taken in many different ways. The great variety of plants such as vegetable plants, herb plants, bedding plants, flowering plants, cut flowers and a whole lot more also determine the requirements of a seeder. In addition, there is a wide variety of trays, pots and other types of containers. Over the past 40 years, Visser has developed a seeding system that is suitable for all capacity needs and types of seeds and that has resulted in a whole gamut of models such nozzle seeders, drum seeders, volume-adjustable seeders and overhead seeders. All these seeding systems have been designed for modular construction which enable a complete production line to be realized, possibly in stages, in which all operations related to the seeding process are automated, i.e.: destacking, filling, dibbling/drilling, seeding, watering, covering and stacking.
