A remark often heard about the Visser spacing fork is it’s very effective but the learning curve for a new driver can last a few weeks. This is because of the skills necessary to position the pots correctly. When the regular fork lift driver is away a problem may evolve when an inexperienced driver has to fill in. Visser now has a solution for this problem! Reed more…
What exactly is the problem for an inexperienced fork lift driver? In order for the spacing process to work effectively the pots must free fall +/-1 cm. When a driver starts spacing, he drops the fork until the first row of pots is hanging +/-1 cm above the floor. Given that the end of the fork is about 2 meters away from the driver this requires some practice. The problem is when the first row is too high from the floor the pots will fall over, too low and two rows will come off the forks at first. Therefore the spacing result will not be perfect.
The fork will also lose weight during the unloading process and lift up, which is the second problem. As the drop distance increases, so does the chance pots will fall over. An experienced driver will drop the fork 2 or 3 times during spacing process but this has to be done precisely at 5 mm each time.
It is because of these issues we introduce the patented folding support wheels. This ingenious addition allows anyone who can operate a fork lift to operate a Visser spacing fork with ease and precision. The wheels at the back of the fork enable the driver to space the pots from a stable position plus the driver no longer has to worry about the height of the fork. The wheels support the fork and define the right height above the floor. In conclusion: the patented support wheels make a relatively simple adjustment but one that offers great results!
