Dynagrip Visser Dynamic Buffer and shipping system

The only shipping system in the world that does not tight you down to pot size and/or plant species. The pot and plant sizes are settings that can be made in the computer by yourself. Different (more) pot sizes and plants species are no problem and can be done within a half an hour. Try that with traditional systems...
The patented system is a area in the greenhouse (i.e. the first two bays behind the head house) where the pots, ready to be shipped are buffered.





The transport of the pots in and out of this buffer area is done with a fully automatic, computer controlled, overhead crane with a very flexible and free programmable pick up mechanism.
The floor of this buffer space can be of both concrete or anti-root mat as long as the surface is flat and uniform. An interesting possibility is to combine the shipping buffer with a rain water storage underneath, which saves space for tanks.



Specifications:

  • Great flexibility: All pot sizes buffered at the same time without or with a minimum of adjustments.
  • Greenhouses from 6,4 up to 12,8 m wide.
  • Pot size 9 up to 30 cm.
  • Suitable as a buffer and shipping system in combination with any growing system such as concrete floors or mobile benches.
  • High capacity: Number of pots per cycle 30 to 100 pots (depending on greenhouse width and pot size. Capacity with a greenhouse length of 50 m., approx. 50 cycles per hour. With a shipping system with 2 bays of 50 m., a bay width of 12,8 m. and a pot size of 17 cm, the capacity is 65 pots x 50 cycles x 2 bays = 6500 pots per hour. That means 3250 pots in and 3250 pots out per hour.
  • Very fast: After putting of the order in the system the pots are presented within a minute at the packaging positions. Your customers will be very satisfied!
  • Possibility for mixed and custom made orders.
  • Possibility of using other pieces of equipment in line, such as: labelling machines, sleeve machines, trolley loading systems etc.
  • No empty greenhouses, upto 15% improvement of space usage.
  • Space usage in the shipping buffer is approx. the same as the final spacing in the greenhouse.
  • Possibility to adapt the buffer space to your needs:
    For example in the spring when there are many plants to ship you need the whole buffer space. In the autumn a smaller buffer space maybe sufficient so that you can use the remaining space to grow more plants for the spring. Your greenhouse space is therefore efficiently used year round.
  • An interesting option is to use the buffer function with half grown grades. Often 2 grades are not enough, most likely 4 or more is desired. A grade extra is just an extra conveyor and a pot push over unit. This is very expensive and difficult with the traditional systems. By sending one grade directly to the pot robot or wide buffer conveyor (this can be the smallest size) and buffer the rest of the pots till the whole batch is graded. Then the batches are send back to the greenhouse at one grade at the time. This system makes sure that no difficult manoeuvres are needed in the greenhouse. Only a part of the buffer space is used for this system so the remaining surface stays available as a shipping buffer.
  • Minimum maintenance costs: Because of the simple, strong and reliable system it has a long lifespan.
  • Very low energy costs compared with the systems with conveyors that are running constantly.
  • Very competitive price against traditional buffer systems.
  • The VDB system is patented by Visser ITE BV.
  • Operates successfully for 1 year now and already 6 systems sold.
