Biotop / Bark spreader

Covering machine used to cover pots with several sorts of covering media such as: Biotop, bark and soil. It’s very important that the soil in the pot is about 5 mm lower as the edge of the pot, depending on the sort of covering media. The covering media is dumped in the hopper of the machine. The belt in the hopper will transport the covering media to the elevator. This elevator will bring the covering media to the intermediate hopper. The sensors in the intermediate hopper will tell the elevator when to bring more material.

A string conveyor which is placed over the hopper and underneath the intermediate hopper, and is positioned perpendicular, will supply the pots that need to be covered. On each side of the string conveyor a horizontal string conveyor is mounted. The speed of the left and right horizontal string conveyor is different. This way the pots that go over the string conveyor will spin around.

The covering media in the intermediate hopper is taken from the intermediate hopper by the conveyor on the bottom. The gate opening will determine the amount of covering media to be dumped on the pot. As soon as the mechanical switch on the string conveyor is triggered by the pot, the covering media is dumped on the pot that is spinning underneath the intermediate hopper. Because of the spinning and the vibrator that is placed underneath the string conveyor, a uniform covering result is achieved. The excess material that falls beside and off the pot will fall back in the main hopper and is re-used.
